MARC PRO

We use a Marc Pro device that produces a signal to comfortably contract muscles and then slowly releases them over a period of time. Muscle fibers are allowed to properly relax, and fluids are moved in and out of the area without causing fatigue to the muscle.

What is Electrical Muscle Stimulation?

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) or E-Stim, uses electrical impulses to cause muscles to contract, which in turn helps your muscles become stronger. Your muscles naturally contract in response to electrical signals sent from your brain. An EMS machine replicates this by sending electronic pulses to your motor nerves to promote muscle contraction. Traditional EMS machines, however, do not necessarily promote recovery of injuries.

Due to the fatigue causing nature of typical EMS machines, at Catalyst Spine & Sports Rehab we utilize the help of the Marc Pro.

What is Marc Pro?

Like a usual EMS machine, the Marc Pro contracts muscles to promote strength, but instead of instantly releasing the muscle fibers, which causes fatigue, the device will slowly release the muscle fibers over a period of time to help promote recovery. This allows muscles to recover faster, which in turn allows you to get back to your activity feeling great.

We implore the same methodology that the manufacturers of the Marc Pro suggest, we will apply the adhesive patches, or electrodes, to the affected area, then run through a series of stretches and exercises for maximum recovery of your symptom or condition.

Can’t I just buy Marc Pro myself and use it?

Sure, you can, although this is highly discouraged. Unless you are a pro athlete, trainer, or certified specialist we would encourage you to reconsider your individual use of the Marc Pro and use it within the oversight of trained professional that can prevent you from injuring yourself even further. You should also not use the Marc Pro if you have high blood pressure, abdominal hernia, or cancer.

Does it hurt to use The Marc Pro?

The Marc Pro works by emitting a tiny electro pulse designed to mimic that of the action potential from your central nervous system. This causes a slight tingle that when the settings on the Marc Pro are increased, can cause a small sensation, but over the period of its use, this sensation subsides and allows you to keep performing your recovery routine.

You can learn more about the Marc Pro and its features by visiting the Marc Pros FAQ section on their website.
